Final Hour 24

 End of Event Meme:

  1. Which hour was most daunting for you? They were all daunting. I wasn't so prepared.
  2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? N/A
  3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? One mini challenge really confused me and also I think they can be a bit time consuming so keeping it quick and simple is best.
  4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? N/A
  5. How many books did you read? I made a huge dent in a rather large book and finished one poetry book.
  6. What were the names of the books you read? A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin and The Moments the Minutes the Hours by Jill Scott.
  7. Which book did you enjoy most? GoT
  8. Which did you enjoy least? The poetry book
  9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders? N/A
  10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? I would do it again and I think this time I'll just be a part time cheerleader.

Needs a sweet treat

The Moments the Minutes the Hours by Jill Scott
DONE
There were a few good poems I saved from this book.

The Flamethrowers by Rachel Kushner
Barely 200 pages into it

Have yet to start Wuthering Heights which is another book club read.

Check In Hour 9

Currently at my local library where I started The Moments the Minutes the Hours Poetry by Jill Scott
Pretty much done and I must say it was an okay selection. 3 out of 5. A book club selection I would never had read otherwise. It's funny as a college student I was obsessed with poetry, now I can barely stomach it. Still loves childrens poetry though.

Mini Challenge
This food inspiration comes from "A Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness
Matthew has diet very similar to a wolf and his indulgence is fine wine.
Starter:
Warmed Nuts - sauteed in oil with shallots, rosemary, brown sugar and cayenne
Spiced Wine
Camembert

Main:
Hasenpfeffer and brown bread
Burgundy

Dessert:
Apple crisp with baked brie

Check In Hour 6

So I've noticed a lot of readers tend to just keep it at one post and update at a check in hour but I keep making separate posts. Is that weird? I hardly ever blog anyway so a few extra posts won't hurt me.

Check In Hour 0 Kick Off Meme

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

California
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
These reads are mostly finishers and Book club choices, so finishing GoT is top priority.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
My snack of choice today will be killing all the cereal I got so here :
Honey Bunches of Images
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
Second time participating, I have a little idea how it works so agenda done. Got so little sleep last night I may quit even sooner. This one is less of a hobby and more of a get-er-done event for me.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

Last Readathon I put too mch effort into doing the checkins and never got much reading done. This time around reading is the priority  and I'll only check in every 3 hours.
