I took a nap, but I am happy to report I got my Dad to participate.

The international readers and teen readers with good taste.

Hour 11 - Check In
Took a two hour nap and woke up refreshed. Cut up some watermelon for snacking and getting back into Call of the Wild. I had no idea the story was about a dog and told from his perspective. Not into it so far, may switch to something else.

Also I am now starting The Call of the Wild by Jack London. This leather bound copy from the library is absolutely stunning and I kind of don't want to return it ever. It has gold gilt, silk lining, sewn-in satin bookmark Also the spine has never been broken and the previous owner was a person named Jack Dewey Helms. The Dewey must mean luck. So I'll be off the internet for awhile.

Ajax Penumbra is a bibliophile looking for a rare book when he gets invited into the exclusive book club. In the first book he is an old man but in this one he is young.
For a young Ajax I can't help but envision Will Forte. I've been liking his show "Last Man on Earth"

Why he would make a good Ajax? He is a plain looking bookish guy. This series is really not that great anyway.

When it comes to reading I am a late bloomer. In only started the reading habit as my 30th birthday approached. I read a bit as a teenager but mostly Francesca Lia Block. Alsoi I plan on staying in my PJ's all day.

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I always have a good game plan going in but tend to get distracted during the day. I think I take on too much and set high standards which I fail to meet.

I'm really grumpy when waking and have obscene reading goals, but I started reading later in life.

Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? One mini challenge really confused me and also I think they can be a bit time consuming so keeping it quick and simple is best.
What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? N/A
How many books did you read? I made a huge dent in a rather large book and finished one poetry book.
What were the names of the books you read? A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin and The Moments the Minutes the Hours by Jill Scott.

Which did you enjoy least? The poetry book
If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders? N/A
How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? I would do it again and I think this time I'll just be a part time cheerleader.

Currently at my local library where I started The Moments the Minutes the Hours Poetry by Jill Scott

Pretty much done and I must say it was an okay selection. 3 out of 5. A book club selection I would never had read otherwise. It's funny as a college student I was obsessed with poetry, now I can barely stomach it. Still loves childrens poetry though.

Second time participating, I have a little idea how it works so agenda done. Got so little sleep last night I may quit even sooner. This one is less of a hobby and more of a get-er-done event for me.

Last Readathon I put too mch effort into doing the checkins and never got much reading done. This time around reading is the priority and I'll only check in every 3 hours.
